From September 10–14, 2025, CO₂…a couple of artists joins a new edition of renowned festival Tanznacht Berlin under the title “Vocal Affairs” curated by Mila Pavićević and Felicitas Zeeden. The feminist voice takes center stage as an artistic and political positioning within a deeply patriarchal society.
To address the precarious funding conditions of the independent scene in Berlin, Tanznacht places a strong focus on supporting and giving visibility to DIY, self-funded projects. Building on this, the knowledge-sharing format SIJELO (pronounced see-yeh-lo) creates a space where collective practices can be experienced and the relationship between the visible and invisible in artistic production processes can be renegotiated.
From the program:
“Undecidable Question” is a linguistically and visually rich performance trilogy by the Croatian group CO₂…a couple of artists. It unfolds in a public yet intimate space – in a black box with variables in which social proximity is practised… In search of the syntax of a new future, the artists Nikolina, Goran Sergej and Priska Pia Pristaš lead small groups of audience members through investigations into unsolvable questions of the past and traces of the present.
The first part of the trilogy, “Myth Interrupted”, dissects historical moments of collective will through a poetic lecture and interrogates competing visions of ‘best possible worlds’. “They Called Them Footprints”, explores gestures of togetherness through choreography and drawing, invoking voices from the future. „…to forge a swimmable path through the snow… “ uses the language of a nursery rhyme to imagine a horizonless landscape. Words condense here into unexpected connections — into sonic “caverns with the strangest corridors“ (Walter Benjamin).
On September 11th at 19:30: Artist Talk with Co2 (Nikolina Pristaš and Goran Sergej Pristaš ) about their installation & performance „Undecidable Question“. The Artist Talk will take place in the Feminist Library (Studio 12) and will be moderated by Andrej Mircev.
